Art Direction for Photography
As a Lead artist at Home Depot, I was charged with vastly improving the photography standard of my departments: Kitchen, Bath and Millworks( Doors and Windows). The creative director of the department wanted a specific look, daytime and very open.
I partnered with the studios that did the photography, using several methods to communicate and assist the photographers to get the ideal images. I created comps/illustrations to guide them in the selection of angles and lighting. I did photoshop paint-overs to indicate changes in lighting and styling. I used photoshop to make large and small edits. And and I talked with them to make sure we were on the same page creatively.
My efforts proved to be very successful; the quality of photography improved drastically, and the creative director was very vocal in his praises of the improved results.
